Festival Cinco de Mayo takes place this year in Hoover
The Festival began in Tuscaloosa in 2002, moved to Gadsden in 2004 and 2005. Later it took place at the Fair Park in 2006 and 2007 and at Alabama Adventure in 2008. This year the organizers of Festival Cinco de Mayo decided to have the festival in collaboration with the Multicultural Resource Center of Hoover and the Alabama Alliance for Latino Health.
As in previous years, the Festival will feature different attractions including children’s games and prizes. Mayfield Ice Cream will be distributing ice cream among the attendees. There will also be prizes given out through organized games of the roulette wheel, as well as give-a-ways from the participating organizations.
The event will take place on Sunday May 3 from 10 am to 2 pm, in the area surrounding “La Casita” in Hoover.
