Census representatives met on April 23 in Hoover to form a Hispanic committee. This is a very important event which seeks to encourage the Hispanic community in Alabama to participate in and be counted in the census.

The countdown to the 2010 census has already begun, and their employees want to be sure that everyone is informed. The Census Bureau has launched a national effort that has spent $ 300 billion dollars in federal assistance to state and local governments. The 2010 Census will have one of the shortest questionnaires in the history of the United States, whose origin dates from the year 1790. The 2010 census asks only the name, sex, age, race, ethnicity, relationship and whether the householder owns or rents. It only takes about 10 minutes on average to complete, and responses are protected by law and strictly confidential. The meeting took place at 2020 Valleydale Road in Hoover on Thursday April 23 at 6:30 pm.
